Eviscerate - theory
I have no doubt whatsoever that for PvP, eviscerate is the best axe skill by far and no other axe mastery elite could possibly even dream of surpassing eviscerate.
In PvE however, I am extremely doubtful. (I am assuming you all know what this legendary skill does.) Whenever I go on a mission or something, there is a target, the group kills the target and moves to a new target. As a warrior, if I wait for adrenaline to build up, I can use eviscerate not very frequently at all. When I do use it, it is usually on a target with 50%- health that would have died in the next 3 seconds anyways.
Keeping this in mind, wouldnt more spammable skills like Cleave or w/e (I'm not saying its better) be better than Eviscerate?
In a sentence, my thread is asking this: Why is Eviscerate the elite skill of choice in general PvE?

Answer: It doesn't matter, cause it's PvE. You still kill the monster even if you use cleave or eviscerate.

I'm not sure how many people agree, but...
Triple Chop> Eviscerate in most PvE.

Eviscerate is cleave + dismember in one tasty skill slot, which means that A) your spike is faster, and B) You have more of your bar free for other stuff.
Cleave is nice because you can spike more often, although not quite as dangerous. Personally, I think triple chop > both in PvE, but different strokes for different folks.

Personally, I'm not a great fan of Triple Chop - it's the adjacent mechanic that I don't like. If it was nearby, then I'd possibly run it it in PvE.
For now (if required) I'll use Cyclone Axe and Cleave

cripslash stops HM monks from kiting away and I'm too cheap to buy hamstring from the skill trainer.
But yeah, sword is the way to go in PvE for the most effectiveness. If you want to talk usefulness, then go sword. If you want to just play for the enjoyment and because you like axes, then use whatever skill.

Eviscerate is godly in HM if you're fighting more than one monk. DPS doesn't kill them

Monk ganking isn't really necesarry for killing things in HM at all. The AI is still largely beaten by... walls. The monks bars are still largely horrible despite them having bigger numbers, and with some assistance from Splinter Weapons or what not your warriors should really have no issues in out damaging what the monks can heal... with ease really.
And your warriors should all use flail. Yes.

Nearby? Your warrior must have a hell of a long reach. Cyclone is adjacent too, btw...

I generally use eviscerate for many of the same reasons already stated...deep wound and high spike being the main reason. Yes cleave is a lot more spammable but I'm able to spam evis just as fast with enraging charge/flail combo.
Another axe build I'm using more and more is W/D with Decapitate for elite and Zealous renewal with flail to recover from losing all my energy. I'll also run vital boon, counterattack, cyclone axe, and signet of pious light and it works quite well. I personally think Decapitate is one of the better ax elites and definately a great finisher. And a whole lot more fun than doing your run of the mill cleave warr.
